I love to write! It has only been in the last few years that I have taken writing seriously. I started by writing posts on social media, which people seemed to enjoy. I love to write! It has only been in the last few years that I have taken writing seriously. I started by writing posts on social media, which people seemed to enjoy. Eventually, my posts led to a column, This Thing Called Life, in our local newspaper. My work appeared in Talking Stick 31, a book published by Jackpine Writers' Bloc which can be found at www.jackpinewriters.com/. I am currently working on my memoir. I also write terrible poetry, flash fiction pieces, and my two favorite writing genres, creative nonfiction and personal essays.
Public Speaker
I started speaking publicly in my small Unitarian Universalist church many years ago. I continue to speak there and occasionally in other Unitarian Universalist churches too. My blog contains some of my past sermons. If you are interested in those topics, feel free to take a look.
Celebrant
Activities
I am a celebrant, which means I officiate weddings, celebrations of life, and child dedications. It would be my delight to lead adoption ceremonies, commitment ceremonies or other one-of-a-kind ceremonies. I am interested in more activities than I have time. I enjoy sewing, quilting, making Legend of the Christmas Spider ornaments and other crafts, flower gardening, and DIY projects. I love learning, so I take classes when I can. My family is number one in my life and takes up much of my time. I am a dog mom. I enjoy cultural events, the great outdoors, and hanging out with friends. My life is full and rich, which often overwhelms me with gratitude.
